colourful tree

February 28th, 2010 ray No comments

The state gov of selangor had a Chap Goh Mei function in i-City Shah Alam last night. Previously they had another CNY function in a temple. Wow this will surely unite the state gov with chinese in Selangor.

i-City was very packed and slow moving traffic due to massive crowd entering the area. Even non-Chinese are there too, which is good because they are exposed to more understanding on the Chinese culture (there were chinese cultural performances, the chinese Yo-Yo, chinese drums, dragon dance, etc.)

The decorations there has transformed the place into a happy land with pokok warna warni.

And I see a lot of photogs there, their dSLR pwns my dSLR with their wide lens and superzoom lens. a lot tried to take long exposure shots, they can be spotted few metres away from the garden camping there with their tripods.

After spending 1 hour there taking photographs of …. trees… we were bored and decided to cabut liao.

On the way back they started the fireworks play and I manage to capture few shots =P

Happy Chap Goh Mei everyone !!!

photo with famous people

December 21st, 2009 ray 1 comment

Was celebrating Cap’s birthday and we saw Amber Chia @ Brussels too, celebrating her birthday.

Cap was so excited and wanted to take photo with her. I’m even more excited because she ask me to take her photos and I’m using a DSLR, I was very very afraid of taking not so nice photo, setting the camera to mode P hoping it would save my ass.

Still ok lah, not bad, but a flashlight would do perfecto :)

After we sang song and Cap blow candle, Amber Chia suddenly came in with a slice of birthday cake (cheese cake) with a candle. Wow, she’s such a nice person yo. We then took group photo with her. I tossed my DSLR to the waiter (with mode P) and I’m the only 1 quite satisfied with the photos, while Ezriq was shouting “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO” He’s the 1 with the face blurred :P

He was so down for 30 minutes and suddenly the staff @ Brussels brought us these xmas present.

Imagine how Happy Ezriq was that night, no wonder he couldn’t sleep lah whole night :P

Oh yah, I was happy too coz I met my good good good hengdai Rachel :D We haven’t seen each other for 1 week dy.

Happy birthday cap !

hennessy artistry

August 3rd, 2009 ray 1 comment

The 1 held in Mont Kiara Indoor Arena 1 week ago (25/07).

I was lucky enough to get into the event, thanks to Sat for his VIP pass :D

It was my first time joining such event as usually I’m a very good boy I stay at home play computer games or watch tv=P

Anyway the usual people would have to purchase a bottle of Hennessy VSOP to go in but our VIP pass allow us to go in FOC, and access special VIP area with free-flow of VSOP lah. The drills here.

Nothing much about the event as there are some performers whom I never hear about.. then they were having MJ tribute by performing his songs la (don’t have moonwalk though).

What’s interesting is that I get to see all those famous bloggers in real life. Oh yah, the VIP passes was from Nuffnang, so u get the drift lah… all those ‘popular’ blogger ;)

Anyway, I get to see this Malaysia ‘most influential blogger’ (he claimed) walking and standing next to me. OMG he’s so short =P around my shoulder only… In his blog all his photos are like so normal and sometime I think all the rumors about him aint true… but that night really opened my eye =D

Not only him, I also saw some girl bloggers too. They look so-so only in their blog but in real life is really pretty.

The ‘VIP’ area that we lepak at are mostly people from the media or blogs. So it’s like lepaking with famous people just that I know them but they dunno me.

h.artistry09

While Sat busy snapping photos with his huge dslr, I too snap photos with my tiny 5800 phone. Didn’t expect the photo quality to be above average. Usually I wouldn’t bother taking photo with my phone camera at night because there’s a lot of noise.

Then I spotted some familiar faces. Some girls dancing next to me were in the MMU CLS during uni, we were in the same CNYE event. They changed a lot liao, makeup and prettier dy. I told Sat abt this then he said what if they don’t recognize me anymore. So I tried to talk to them and it took a while for Yi Ming to remember me. Didn’t talk to the rest coz they were crazily dancing there.

Anyway it was a good event. All the performing artists arrived in BMW 7 series… in a row… I think there were 4 or 5 BMW 7 series (inside all taiwanese, westeners) then suddenly got Myvi lol… some Malaysian artist inside.. so Sia sui lol.

Next day I woke up and had heavy hang over cuz drank too much (free flow sure abuse wan)

aloha

February 27th, 2009 ray 1 comment

Annual dinner just over, the theme was Aloha.

It was fun, because I get to eat free yummy food =P

It wasn’t fun, because I didn’t get any lucky prizes. The grand prize is a LCD tv. =( I was aiming to win that, I bet everyone else do.

They were giving out free prizes like Nokia 5800, NetBook, Home Theatre, DigiCams, etc. and those lucky numbers starts with the number 0. My supposedly lucky number was 157 and no it’s not lucky. Everytime the person who draw the lots shout ‘ZERO’ and I know it’s definitely not me. Zero zero zero zero, it seems like there’s only 001-099 in that box… of course there’s a few that start with ‘ONE’ but that’s very rare.

I didn’t won anything. I can only see those lucky bastards running up the stage with their arrogant & happy face. Yet some of them who won the prize were even complaining that the stuff they won is useless to them and want to throw it away -_-” Talking about appreciate stuff….

CNY question

January 29th, 2009 ray 3 comments

Why must we “ask” for angpao from other people during CNY ?

It’s like beggar u know…. you must wish the person NICE NICE words then the person give u the ang pao. Yes I know this is a form of blessing from the elderly.. but then there are those uncle auntie that insist u say superbly nice things and wishing for them then only they willing to give u the ang pao…. damnit lah… ngor mm hei hon your mahney ok …

Why can’t they use kam (oranges) instead. When you wish ppl, u get a kam as blessing. Easier mah… this is so troublesome, for both kodomo and those stupid onnas…. they will have headache deciding how much to give… if give less, then ‘no face’ if their friends give their kids more angpao mahney. if gave more, they feel ‘rugi’ and ‘not worth’….

Who invented Ang Pao ah ? This is so stewpid man…

i hate chinese new year ! Can i just stay at home play red alert 3 and not go visitng other peoples house listening to other peeples show off, and listening to my mum showing off back ? Chinese memang useless lah…

Dongzhi festival

December 22nd, 2008 ray 2 comments

I didn’t know the importance of this festival, until yesterday :P

My parents was mad because I woke up quite late and didn’t really help out with the kitchen or folding the silver papers. To me, it’s just a day where people eat “Tang Yuan” and burn their offering of ‘お金’ to ancestor.

From wiki :

The Dongzhì Festival or Winter Solstice Festival ( “The Extreme of Winter”) is one of the most important festivals celebrated by the Chinese and other East Asians during the Dongzhi solar term on or around December 22 when sunshine is weakest and daylight shortest; i.e., on the first day of the Dongzhi solar term

The origins of this festival can be traced back to the Yin and Yang philosophy of balance and harmony in the cosmos. After this celebration, there will be days with longer daylight hours and therefore an increase in positive energy flowing in. The philosophical significance of this is symbolized by the I Ching hexagram.

Traditionally, the Dongzhi Festival is also a time for the family to get together. One activity that occurs during these get togethers (especially in the southern parts of China )is the making and eating of Tangyuan or balls of glutinuous rice, which symbolize reunion. Tangyuan are made of glutinuous rice flour and sometimes brightly coloured. Each family member receives at least one large Tang Yuan in addition to several small ones. The flour balls may be plain or stuffed. They are cooked in a sweet soup or savoury broth with both the ball and the soup/broth served in one bowl.

I was so full after the meal, almost forgotten about the Tang Yuan. Right b4 12am I hurried and finished a bowl of Tang Yuan, well at least maintained the tradition :P

But hor…. who’s gonna finish the remaining tang yuans in the fridge? My sisters so semangat made a lot, now it’s there occupying the space in fridge….. til 1 day throw away.

harp wedding

December 15th, 2008 ray 2 comments

Congratulations to Harphajan whom just got married 2 days ago !

It was my first time attending a Punjabi wedding. Very special and different from what I use to witness in Chinese or Malay wedding. Chinese wedding is quite traditional while Punjabi wedding seems traditional but yet modern as well.

Why?

Chinese wedding :
everyday the same ol’ flow. Reception, sit down, wait for first dish, bride/groom parents go on stage, yam seng with crowd, we eat, they go around tables yam seng/interrupting ppl eat, til the last dish (longan water) ppl will start leaving.

Punjabi wedding that I attended :
I missed the first few part coz waiting for the rest ! argghh.. by the time I get seated, we began eating, while enjoying the bollywood dance performances. got Bhangra dance, got actings. the food is quite normal. at the end its like disco, everyone will go to the dancefloor and start shaking. There’s this guy hitting on his punjabi drums walking around the dancefloor, bringing ‘forte’ to the music. The feeling is like attending prom night, while eating got a lot of activities on stage, after finish eating then dance. Sounds nostalgic?

Then I realized, Jaspreet is like the prettiest of all that night. Makeup really does magic hor…. Normally I always said she ugly, now i must retract this statement dy :P

damn the face shop -updated-

December 5th, 2008 ray 6 comments

Update 05/12/2008 :
We went back to the shop today. Peiyee they all went into the shop to ‘hunt’ for the feipoh… while i stay outside snap this photo. I dare not go in, kinda phobia… seems like yesterday event was quite big impact on me :P Well, today the feipoh not in… not yet her shift gua… lucky her.. else they all gonna whack her dy :P

As mentioned in my previous post, I’m attending C3 training this week. For those who don’t know, C3 stands for CSSC Certified Consultant training whereby they train you to be good in CON + inSULTing.

Today’s training was about negotiation skill which includes tactics, strategies, etc to seal a deal . Our assignment was to shop around midvalley, and get the best bargain.

Both me and Uncle Lee teamed up and was given the assignment of “Go to TheFaceShop at F.09 and get the Sunshine Eye Liner Pen (Gold) retail price at RM18.10 and your target price is RM14.90″ In short, we need to bargain with the fellas in TheFaceShop to get 25% discount for an eye liner pen. The more discount we get, the better loh.. the most discount will get prize.

So we head off to TheFaceShop. We saw this pregnant lady (store supervisor) and we asked about the eyeliner, indeed it is RM18.10 per pen, no discount. We then ask for discount, saying we’re a student on assignment to get this pen at RM13 minimum. The lady said cannot, coz they got no discount wan.. only got best price item, which everything is managed by SKU bar codes, all computerized.

We beg beg beg, negotiate, used up all tactics, also cannot. Then when the lady leave us alone, we saw this feipoh girl (another staff) whisper to her, we thought she’s kinda kind-looking and think she might help us out of sympathy.

We then approached this feipoh (i think around 20’s) and ask her to help see got any way to reduce the price anot… Manatau.. she’s a NON-Negotiator… shout at us, condemn us, curse bad words……. all customer look at us… damn siasui… then another malay girl (3rd staff) came, and this feipoh shout and tell her loud loud “SAYA TAK BOLEH TAHAN LAH ORANG MACAM INI KACAU SAJA” and start cursing “diu” loud loud… Both of us ma-lat-lou stand there stunned & speechless.

I ask Uncle Lee to give up, it’s time up already, better go back. He hesitated, he wanted to try again…

To cut short, we spent 30 minutes standing in that blardee shop kena marah for nothing… that feipoh condemn us as if we dont know what is computer. She said here all computerized, wat barcode blablabla all those so-called jargons macamlah we dont know….

I live for 24 years, this is my first time being humiliated like this loh. She said she work there for 2 years liao like very pro like that….

Anyway, we ended up not buying anything… played pool with wee yen, esther, alvin and chingyin to lepas geram….

It was a last minute thing.

Actually I don’t know the purpose of this trip. But when Penang was mentioned, it triggers another keyword called ‘foods’. I’m like a magnet to food u know, so I can’t possibly avoid this trip right ;)
